Be like a Tree. Keep growing, reach for the sky and remember your roots

Timmy is the 4th Generation of Arbormax
Just like his siblings, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, Timmy is an arborist. Our family has been rooted in the tree service industry for more than 75 years. If you ask us, we will jokingly tell you that we are just another branch on our family tree of arborists and tree guys. It's no secret that we truly love what we do. It's because every day lived as an arborist is a great day.
Very few things in this world will make a father prouder than watching his children follow in his footsteps. At ArborMax we couldn't be prouder to tell you that our family has been firmly rooted in the tree service industry for four generations. My great grandfather and founder of our company courageously served two tours in WWII as a paratrooper. On D-day and Parachuted in behind Enemy lines. From there he fought tirelessly to help liberate the people of France. By the end of the war had ended he had been through seven major battles and received a purple heart. He returned home a decorated veteran. His experiences and the training he received made him no stranger to heights or danger. Removing trees was a job that was well suited to him. In the 1940's residential and commercial tree service weren't in high demand. Loggers and tree service companies were basically the same thing. From logging trees in the woods to removing a dangerous tree that had to be climbed he did it all. Back then the tools that were available to remove trees were limited and the techniques were basic.
For many years, my great grandfather continued to remove unwanted trees and care for the ones that were wanted. Over the course of those years as a tree guy he became a proud daddy to six children. From an early age, his youngest son (my grandfather) showed interest and strong desire to follow in his footsteps. Time and experience honed my great grandfather's skills, and he was a great arborist. He was very passionate about his profession and eager to pass all the knowledge that he gained on to my grandfather. When he was 14 years old my grandpa began his full-time career in the tree service industry. The year was 1970, it's been more than 50 years since he first put a saw into a tree. As of today, he is still actively working with ArborMax every day. And he still loves it!
My grandfather carried on the tradition with dad. He taught him everything he knew. Like his dad, an interest in trees grew within him at an early age. At 35 years old my dad became one of the youngest Board-certified Master Arborists ever. He is a true master of his craft. Just like my grandfather, you will find my dad cutting trees in some form or another every day. Whether it is removing a huge dangerous oak tree with a crane or pruning a small dogwood to shape its future growth he is out there every day and loving it. Since we were born, myself and my four siblings have absorbed the generations of knowledge has been learned. I am very honored and proud to continue the tradition with my brothers and sisters and soon my own children.

Many things have changed since my great grandfather removed that first tree back in the 1940's. Equipment and tools have advanced beyond explanation, the methods and techniques used to climb trees have changed and improved. Overall, the understanding of what trees need has also advanced tremendously. Although many things have changed, one thing that has remained steadfast and unchanged over time. That is our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and our desire to be the absolute best at what we do. We are still in business after 75 years because of our clients and the relationships that we have built with them. We know that taking care of people along with trees is what it's all about. Hopefully we will be able to continue the tradition for another ten generations
